Here’s where I’m coming from…

I didn't grow up in the church. My parents raised me to believe the world was my playground (yours, too!), and honestly, I still believe it. The only thing that is different now is that I dwell in the fullness of God and the opportunities for good are much more beautiful, hopeful, and immense. Sometimes, when the world tells me that's all too much, I am tempted to shrink back and hide, wondering “Who am I anyway??”.

But, more often than not these days, I'm embracing the fact that God made me to envision BIG things, to hope for even more, and to push for things to be as they should. I believe for things to be as they should, we’ll need everyone to take their God-given place in the world. That means you, too. It will take bravery, and heart, and a lot of stamina, but I believe God wants us to work out His Kingdom right here on Earth.

I like my water fizzy and my coffee black. A big earring and a bright lip is my power-suit. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was little, and I’m still fascinated by all things space and moon. Every winter I search for the magic bullet to stave off Seasonal Affective Disorder…I haven’t found one. Long-suffering is the shared DNA of Midwesterners.

I try to always have a fiction and non-fiction book going at once. We cut cable a decade ago, but now subscribe to every streaming TV service (I’m not sad about it.) Give me a spicy, woodsy candle over a vanilla one every day of the week. I’m an Enneagram 3, and ENFP, and my StrengthsFinder tells me I’m strong in input, ideation, strategic, activator, and connectedness.
